Song of The Day
Song of The Day
Athlete by Spill Tab — I shot for Spill Tab's debut Toronto show in high school & have be very impressed by how she's continued to release creative music
Jayden by Claire Rosinkranz — This is a test note
Baby (Is it a Crime) by Rema — We're so back.
Kollage by Carly Rae Jepsen — Artists are judged by their breakout hit. People _often_ disregard their artistic development.
Captain Crunch by CZARFACE, MF DOOM — Just a good song.
Hella Good by No Doubt — Holy shoot this is incredible and made me dive into Gwen Stefani's discography.
Last Night in Town by Yeek — Went to Yeek's show in SF. He cried at the end of this song. It was a pretty moving moment. I dedicate this to my best friend.
Appletree by Erykah Badu — One of my favourite tracks of what is certainly the best neo-soul album of all time. Thank god for Erykah Badu.
Only Have Eyes 42 by Janelle Mona — Heard in the washroom at a Japanese restaurant in Toronto.
Give It To Me Baby by Rick James — Have been listening to a lot of 70-90s stuff. Mostly things that have been sampled in Hip Hop tracks. I Just Wanna Love You by Jay Z samples this.
PHONICS by Asha Imuno — Incredible bass. Cool vibe.
Super Stars by Yves Tumor — One of my favourite live shows that I showed up to before knowing who they were. Amazing song, even better live.
Don't Matter (feat. Michael Jackson) by Drake — I thought this song was over-hated when it came out. He bought the vocals from the Jackson Estate, and used them on a good song within the same topic of the original lyrics. I like this song.
Agora Hills by Doja Cat — Great 808s. Catchy vibes. Get me in the zone like crazy.
Silver Lines by IAMDDB — Nice electronic hiphop vibe.
Poison by Nilo Blues — Toronto-based artist who I met when I was like 16 (?). Thought he was super cool and got obsessed with his music for a while.

Really good cry by BETWEEN FRIENDS — One of my most played songs in 2024.

Landline by binki — Just a good song.
Flirting in Space by Brad stank — I love his other song Pond Weed, but this is just a fitting song for my point in life.
CHORRITO PA LAS ANIMAS by Feid — It's warm in Malaga, so it's a vibe.
Be by Common — A rare moment in the SOTD tradition, where I can't choose a single song so I chose an album. Common's 'Be' is an incredible peace of work with meaningful lyrics regarding being present, being human, being flawed, and being curious.
I Want You by Marvin Gaye — Smooth. Smooth. Smooth.
Pass It Pass It by Snoop Dogg — Amazing Pharrell produced song during Snoop's prime.
Thug Till It's Over by Cookin' Soul & Freddie Gibbs — Freddie Gibbs over soul-inspired samples is everything you could ask for on a long commute day.
oh my love by FKA twigs — It's okay the first time you listen to it. It's amazing the 6th time.
High and Dry by Radiohead — Classic Radiohead.
Lemon Grass by MF DOOM — A Metal Fingers track that the world under appreciates, but every fan loves. Makes you feel like a kid playing outside as summer is ending, realizing you are growing up.
Something Cool (Mono) by June Christy — Stolen from the North Hollywood soundtrack. A beautiful song.
トーキョーレギー by Masayoshi Takanaka — Japanese city pop from 1976. Making colours feel brighter and the sun shine harder.
Red Wine Supernova by Chappell Roan — A song that reminds me of my friend who showed me Chappell Roan before anyone really knew about her.
1 Thing by Amerie — Went to a hip-hop club. Got me in the grove of mid 2000s female rap & r&b.
Hello goodbye by Charlie XCX — Simply just a good vibe.
Anti-glory by horsegirl — Nice post-punk/indie vibe with great chords.
So[Rt] by Knxwledge — My introduction to instrumental hiphop that could be in your rotation daily.
Sexy to Someone by Clairo — Clairo vibes today. Madrid's kinda cloudy.
wyd by Remi Wolf — Just a vibe. Reminds me of _oh my love_ by FKA twigs.
Cry for you by September — My mom loved this song. Amazing dance/techno-pop song.
Shotput by Still Woozy — Groovy, beautiful track. Still Woozy was one of the first indie artists I got super into.
Alrighty Aphrodite by Peach Pit — A song that reminds me of an old friend, and my first week at university. A local band played their first gig at a restaurant on the main street of Kingston, ON, and I photographed it. It's an incredible track.
Tu Con El by Frankie Ruiz — The first spanish song I fell in love with in my 20s. It's an incredible story.
MM..FOOD (20th Anniversary Edition) by MF DOOM — One of my favourite albums ever. My brother showed me this in highschool, and it introduced me to older rap of this style. All caps when you spell the mans name.
Plastic 100ºC by Sampha — A meaningful Sampha track. Nothing crazy, but felt right given the current things on my mind.
Indeed by Cruza — Cruza gives me Steve Lacy, Gorillaz, etc. vibes.
Searching by Donnie & Joe Emerson — Insane pull by my friend Micah at 20 000 streams. It's a beautifully raw funk/yachty rock song.
Take Me For a Little While by The Royal Jesters — A favourite of mine because of the Kid Cudi's interpolation on Ghost Town.
hey now by Kendrick Lamar — I'm all about my Yen.
Algun Contexto by Armenia — A good indie rock song in spanish that one of my favourite people showed me.
She Said by Katie Tupper — Canadian artist who is criminally underrated.
